1st Year Painting and Drawing Studio
The aim of the First Year Drawing and Painting Studio is to shape the awareness of students, often on a very basic level, of the language of artistic expression, and developing technical skills in groups with a varied degree of grasp over the subject. The curriculum of the Studio includes coordinated activities conducted by various teachers under two headings: drawing and painting. Classes are based on a study from nature in a broad sense, where reference to a concrete reality serves in the precision of delineating the criteria and defining the course of action for the drawing or painting performed by the student. The character of the class and the practical tasks performed at the studio form a basis for a completely free but also conscious creation, supported by technical skill. The curriculum and practice of the First Year Drawing and Painting Studio is tightly interwoven in the teaching aim of the Chair of Graphic Art, followed over the five-year course of education.
